I Have commented on the pub thing, some time ago. A bit of a update is that I have found a couple of places that are half way decent but it does involve a drive out. I am talking eating as well as drinking so apologies to you camra lovers out there...

Rileys at Hoylandswaine, the food is very good and the pub is small and has a local feel.

Spencer Arms, Cawthorne is OK. I had a Ok meal there a few weeks back.

I really do recommend the hi-life card, to all the residents. There are plenty of eating and drinking places to be found in leeds, sheffield and even closer to home.

Nothing in walking distance but the Sun at Flockton has some really nice food and it does Peroni on tap :D also been told that The Talbot in Mapplewell does good food - top tip is to eat at the bar as opposed to the restaurant as same quality food but cheaper ;)

I haven't tried it yet but I've heard The Pledwick is open again. The people I was speaking with said it was excellent, good beers etc. It's not serving food yet but it has a separate 'Family Room' and a big beer garden with kid's play area. I'll be trying it out next time we go for a walk through Newmillerdam.

Shame about the quaint village pub on the edge of the estate, where will we all go now???

Maybe we should write to Bovis and ask them to put an offer on the land (about 20p I reckon would cover it) and build a decent pub?

RIPieces Woolley Pub
